Leash Training

My Male pulls horrible on the leash when walking. He does not walk more hops all the way around the block,just pulling. I tried the change direction training technique but it does not seem to be working. Any advise on getting him to stop pulling. He is now over 1 year old. My female walks great on the leash,even good on a loose leash.

Have you ever seen the dog whisperer?Lots of great info on that show for basic issues(and big trouble ones)

Jill, are you using a regular collar and leash, or are you using a training collar (like a choke or martingale)? I find that all of my dogs (even the pets) behave better on a show lead of some kind. They are finer and they don't like to pull on them as much.

I know it may seem weird but try using a head collar. He will soon learn that he can't pull with that on. I have to use a head collar on my big dog, Dixie. Nothing else worked but the minute minute she tried to pull, her nose went down and she hasn't pulled since. She actually walks on a loose lead! Good luck
