Re: Ellie
Well, I'm sure you know the photos are all but impossible to evaluate-she has a very pretty head though and her coat is coming in nicely. I'm not sure if it's the way she's standing, but in both photos she looks like she's knuckling over in front.
Re: Ellie
I will trim up her feet hair, trim her nails back and stack her on the table when my sister gets up to see if I can get some better pic's of her and use bait this time!!!
I don't think she knuckles over......she has tons of hair on her feet!!

Re: Ellie
Well, you're not going to be happy about my thoughts on this girl. She has a pretty head (obviously a Sniffntell's head-it reminds me of Megan's Prince), and neck, and a beautiful coat for her age. She also looks to have really nice ribbing and keel. On the downside, her front is very forward and she looks short in upper arm-and she still does look slightly knuckled over to me, which is our breed's only DQ. Her rear angles are poor and she's also short in second thigh bone. Her topline is very poor-she's extremely high in the rear, and that won't come back due to the rear angles.
Re: Ellie
That's ok Kathleen....I still like to hear what others think....good and bad....that way I am not looking at her with a blind eye!! Thanks!
I absolutely love this girls coat for how young she is.....she has a nicer coat than many adults have! I love her head!! I actually think she has a nice topline...it is very level.....those pic's didn't do it justice......I am working on better pic's for her on a harder surface.....setting up the camera with the tripod! LOL!! I know she has a weak rear....but far nicer than her half siblings had! JMO!

Re: Ellie
The best to me is her head, the worst is her being high in the rear......One of my girls sucks in her stomach when I stack her..lol..(Making it look like she's roached)She's not..what I do is rub my hand along her back to relax her while I position everything, they her topline straightens out...maybe she's standing on her tippie toes
Re: Ellie
Well I was seeing her with a blind eye I guess...I took more pic's of her and in the pic's she is high in the rear....LOL!! I couldn't and can't see it normally until she was stacked on the table or stacked at eye level....my apologies!! But when I did see it, it is hard to swallow when you love a dog so much and have such high hopes for it. We are still going to put her in the ring a few times just for fun and experience! I will breed her to Shae whom is very correct in the rear and a true lowrider!! Hoping and praying for a really nice female outta them!!
This is how we learn tho.....with help from others view points.....sometimes we all have a blind eye when it comes to our own dogs....LOL!! Why I love the forums so much and I really do appreciate Kathleens wisdom on the conformation on dogs and I always value her opinion along with a few others....like my handlers and she has yet to see her and evaluater her....and I know she would be much harsher than you Kathleen....Missy is straight forward with the dogs and tells it exactly how she sees it reguardless how you feel....LOL!!! I appreciate that!!

Re: Ellie
It's easy to fix small things like that with one generation with a good pairing..lol..I've done it myself..I have a rat looking girl(My latte) That produces the gorgeous puppies! They never look like rats, like she does..(Her parents didn't look like rats either..lol)

Oh I know....I sold a super nice girl cause I hated her coat.....she produces the nicest sweetest pups and most of them have nice coats only one that i have seen actually got her coat! I do know how to fix some issues with the dogs.....by breeding ones bad faults to a male that compliments those faults and I really have high hopes for this girl! She is just absolutely sweet and I love her head and coat.....so I do have 4 cream males to breed her to and I will definately match her up with the best one.....not Nugget or Buddy cause they both carry the higher rear traits....so Shae or Harley will be her best bet....Shae has the nicer coat and chest Harley lacks those....Shae has the nicer rear of the 2!!

I know, you know how to fix it..lol..Just making conversation
These are reasons why "some dogs" are great Breeding dogs and not so good show dogs..They can produce the quality needed.
Re: Ellie
It can really be hard to see in person what shows up so easily in photos, but the reverse is true also. Photos DO lie sometimes-I've learned that the hard way.
She does look pretty level in that puppy photo. Maybe she will level out some with age-that second set of photos is actually better than the first set. At h ome I have software that will tilt the photo by degrees so I can get the feet level with each other and then really see the topline better. I tried it here at work, but it won't change it less than 90 degrees, which is stupid. I'm going to give that a shot tonight with two of those photos and see how she looks. If you're still going to show her, teach her to squat a little on her hind legs-that should help hide the topline a bit when she's on the table.
I have one with a really level topline now, but Kathy keeps telling me she's going to go high in the rear (Junie). I don't know if she will or won't, but her rear angles are so good, I have a hard time seeing how it will happen.

Re: Ellie
I just want to show her to give her some experience with socializing in the ring....I also may wait till she is older....and may use her as a "filler" to up points for majors....LOL!!! I know thats sort of cheating but when Blossom hits Open class.....I want her to finish fast!!
Kathleen....why don't you show Blossom for me?? Gina has to have surgery on her hands for carpol tunnel, so that is going to lay her up for atleast 6 mths and Blossom needs to be in the ring the end of Feb if her topline levels some by then, which I am hoping it will!!

Isn't that the truth. When Darren used to breed and show Netherland Dwarf rabbits he would always have what they called "buds" (Big Ugly Does). He would keep the "buds" for breeding, and would chose nice bucks for them, and the babies would come out amazing and always breezed through the show ring like it was nothing. I'm sure she'll be fine with the right mate. I LOVE her head!

LOL-I'm living with my parents right now, and I'm 99% sure they would kill me if I brought another dog home right now. With the puppies busy tearing up the house, they're pulling their hair out. When I get a chance to move out on my own again, I'd happily handle some dogs. If she's friendly and you need someone to handle ringside, I can do that for you though! I just can't bring her home and train her here. I'm entering the two girls in Detroit in the 6-9 month class and the bred by class-so if you do enter her in another class and bring her, I can handle her for you there-just be prepared to step in if you need to for winners bitch! I doubt Cricket will take the bred-by class, but there's usually only one in the 6-9 month class.
Re: Ellie
I could do that if needed.....the judges would know right away that I can't show worth a poop...LOL!!! I can't even drive again unless it's just 5 miles...I shake to bad!! I have to have someone drive me everywhere again....I hate it!
I would pay you also for taking her in the ring! If I bring my daughter with me...she could step in if needed also!!

Re: Ellie
No need to pay me for Detroit-I'm going to be there anyway, so it's no trouble. Just let me know what class you're entering her in so I'll be prepared for it. Be aware also-she has to be there the entire time (10 to 5 I think), so it's not a show and go. I'm taking the girls both days, so it'll be a looong weekend. I think it might end up a major in bitches at least on Sunday too. Lois is entering her two girls at least on Sunday, I'm entering mine and Kathy will enter one on Sunday. I'm still debating entering Millie, but either way, if you enter your girl, we're up to six even without Millie, so four more girls would make a major on Sunday, and I know Gemdach (standards) always enters at Detroit too. She had I think three girls at the Novi show. I'm told Saturday will be "in the bag" for Gemdach, which is why Kathy and Lois may not enter that day. I don't care, I just want experience and socialization for the pups, so I'm going both days regardless. I'm helping build points for for someone else-who cares.
Re: Ellie
Cool beans.....I will look up the info again and see when I can enter her!! Thanks a bunches!!

Sorry to hear she has to have surgery! But I do have to ask, why will a carpal tunnel repair keep her out that long? Do they do things different up north?
