I'm sure I have PLENTY of rope toys.....we can spare a few for good ol River!!! I bet he would love that HUGE one that we have....but that one is my sisters, for her dogs....LOL!!! I remember him so well with his rope toys.....I remember telling you that they are his favorite and he absolutely loves them!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I am thinking of maybe looking more into this secret santa thing.....they have it really organized well and it was so much fun!! Of course it is strictly a volunteer thing to get involved in.
Everyone that wanted involved turned in their name and how many dogs and answered a few short questions, then they all get matched up and they let you know who you have. I just went out and bought stuff here and there and there is no limit to how much or how little to spend....it just all depends what is in your budget!!!
I got 2 personal presents.....a bracelet and doggie picture frame. The doggies got lots of rope toys, squeekies, bandannas, treats, a ball, water splash balls for summer fun and blankies!!
I sent....a couple rope toys, treats, some rubber toys, some squeekers, some dentals chews & teeth cleaners, balls. I sent her a plaque with a doxie on it and a doxie bookmarker from Pets Supplies Plus and a Santa candle holder with JOY on it!!

It's something we can throw around and see if anyone is interested in trying it next year!! Very Happy

Everyone would be matched up evenly......say you only have 3 dogs, then you would be matched up with someone with 3 dogs and if you have 10 or more, then all those would be matched up. You don't have to buy for every dog, just what you can afford. They buy stuff all year round for their exchange so they are ready for it at Christmas time. Lots of people even just made stuff, blankies, beds, clothes or whatever they were crafty at! You need to mail it out around the 15th of Dec to get it to it's destination on time. It cost me $13 to mail mine out to Florida!! It was a lot of fun and I couldn't help myself.....I had a dachshund rescue to buy for. It was really fun and we all just now announced who we had so we could thank each other!! Very Happy Very Happy We are so use to giving every year and this was the first time we received and my doggies were so excited!! We just bought them a few things from us, I didn't want them overwhelmed. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I've done this before on other boards, twice. The first time, I sent out a box but got nothing in return, but the second time was really fun. I would be interested in doing this next year too. santa

I think if we keep it sort of small and amongst those we have known for a bit......most of us have known each other for a few yrs from the other forums....it can and should be a success!!! I will make some guidelines and rules......must be a member for atleast 6 mths, that sort of thing!! Of course I have to stress it is a volunteer thing and the board cannot be held accountable, but it seems like it will be amongst us "forum friends" and doxie lovers so hopefully everyone that signs up will be true to their commitment and make it a success!!! I will add a members only section and we will add it to there. I don't want it public for all to see. Their will be personal info with names & addresses and such posted there. Some things will be put in PM's!!
It really was fun for my babies!!! Like I said I normally take a HUGE care package to a shelter every year and still will, but it is nice to receive for my kids also!! Razz Razz

Well I have a whole year to plan it all out now and get it organized, I will need a few volunteers to help make it a success!! Very Happy
