Daisy's a New Momma :)
Hi All,
Well, in spite of Haley being due yesterday and Daisy being due tomorrow, Daisy delivered one puppy this morning:
Female, Black & cream/tan, 3 1/8 oz *Spunky little girl to be so tiny, WooHoo*
Daisy had the one healthy puppy, then nothing. I got worried after nearly 2 hours with no action and took her to the vet. She was fine and there were no problems, just no more puppies. So, she is resting and the puppy is doing great. Janean and I discussed how strange it was that she only had one. She thinks maybe, since I was trying to use Stetson first and he didn't get the job done, that Daisy was at the end of ovulation when Rowdy bred with her. Happy to have the one healthy little baby and no complications Her nose looks like it has a tiny piece of charcoal on the end of it, lol. Beautiful pigmentation for a newborn. I am in shock about her size though How can one puppy be so tiny? You would think she would've been above average getting all of the nourishment. The vet checked her out and said, "Perfect, newborn! Go home and enjoy her."
I have not named her yet, but here are her first pics

Thanks for the congrats, Karen. And, you are absolutely right, remember, I did have none when Bitty lost her litter, so this is grand in comparison. At least we didn't lose any She is 12 hours old now and just flourishing She's a "mover and a groover"
Her name is Kiara Rhona helped me name her and it means tiny & dark

I love that name - it has a nice ring to it. Sounds like Haley is making up for the singleton Good luck

"Hanging" Kiara, Whew!!!!!!
Hi all and Happy Easter!
ROFL, I attempted to "hang" Kiara. This was my 1st attempt ever and my husband took about 20 pics to get this one
Obviously, I need some more coaching on the technique Kathleen, I used your tips, but OMG, you were right! It is very difficult I will try Haley's litter tomorrow, but just this one wore me out
If anyone can tell anything about Kiara in the pic, critiques on her and on ""hanging" are welcome Somebody PLEASE Help, lol.

Re: Daisy's a New Momma :)
Thanks all
Kiara is a little butterball and full of coat just like her parents
One of my sister's was here early yesterday morning when we went to let Daisy & Haley out and discovered that Kiara had opened her eyes. I thought they weren't able to see right away, but she was looking all around and seemed to be saying, "Why did you leave me in the dark so long?"
She is also so condusive to her neurological stimulation sessions every day so will probably have the temperaments of her parents. She already likes being held, stimulated with belly rubs, touching her feet, etc.(Haleys' puppies are also doing well with their stimulation periods).
I thought she was a black/cream, but she is looking more like a black/tan with very light tan points. She is actually showing blush points since Daisy is cream, and Rowdy is black/tan but also 1/2 cream. Blush is an Eridox term, not AKC, but I love the distinguishing term because it truly describes the color genes involved. I am still watching her color because under her tail is very creamy. Whether I keep her or let someone else adopt her if it is determined that her conformation is worthy of breeding or show, she will be a cream producer and possibly a chocolate producer
I am probably only going to hold one female back, so I am looking closely at Kiara and Happy (black/cream dapple) out of Haley's litter. I am giving one of my sisters a male. If that male is breeding quality, it will give me a chocolate carrying stud to use since Haley is chocolate/cream if she gets one out of her litter, or she may take one from Kati & Chief's litter due May 18th.
I will be posting about the Kati & Chief "oops" litter in a couple of days, but if anyone wants to check it out, I already have it on the "Expecting" page on my website
