Dog show
I'm going to my first dog show on the 15th! I'm very excited.
Would it be ok to bring my camera?
I'm not sure if it's a benched show but the lady I spoke to said there would be tours telling people what was going on and that there would be lots of vendors!

Re: Dog show
Yes, feel free to bring your camera. You can take photos of the dogs in the ring anytime, but you might want to ask before photoing one outside the ring, just as a courtesy. I highly recommend buying a catalog at the show-it gives you the information on the dogs entered (their name, sire/dam/owner information and catalog number), so you can follow which classes are in the ring at any particular moment MUCH easier. I still buy catalogs unless it's a tiny show with only a few dogs showing. Bring some money for the vendors. I could go broke buying show leads-they're such fun and there are so many kinds
Re: Dog show
Thank you! I will find a catalog, I'm sure.
I'm excited about the vendors, and agree that I could go broke too, I love buying stuff for my pups!

My Wini is entered this weekend down there in Florida! He is showing the 7th, 8th & 9th in the wires. I love to see my own name in the catalogs....LOL!!!! It is the Greater Daytona Dog Fanciers Show held in Ormond Beach! I sooooo wish I could be there for the show to see him and take pic's!!
I also love the vendors and have spent plenty! Just becareful with the flash on your camera....turn it off if taking pic's while dogs are in the ring. I got my head chewed off by a lady at a show once. The very next day she said something to me again about it....I told her that was MY dog in the ring and I would take pic's if I wanted....LOL!!! She was a SNOT about it!!! Finally the third day she actually talked to me.....LOL!!!! Yes always ask before touching or taking pic's of dogs.....some handlers and owners can be a bit snippy...but the majority are very nice and cooperative!

Re: Dog show
Yes ma'am I saw your post! It would be awesome to go and see him, maybe I would bring him good luck(not that he needs it) and he would win every day!
Probably not, as I'm not very lucky.
My parents are still discussing it, so we'll see if I get to go.
I'll make sure to be careful with it. If it's outside and sunny then the flash won't go off, but I'll make sure before hand just in case.

Re: Dog show
Well lol when i was a kid i use to pet the big standard poodles...i am sure the breeders/handlers were not thrilled but they all knew i was like 6 and were all very nice...i would ask can i pet him or her and of course get kisses from the dogs. I would go back to my mom a little tike of 45 lbs...and say "well no bath for me tonight the dog gave me one."
