"Reverse" dapple

I know "reverse" is just a descriptive word and some don't even like to use it but all that aside... Is a reverse dapple more likely to make reverse dapples rather then typical dapples or is a reverse just something that pops up randomly?

This is totally random,dappling pattern is where to hair color is affected by the pattern,this is why you can have "reverse"(LOTS of dapple) or Hidden dapple(Very little at birth if at all noticable!)
Sometimes dappling fades as the dog matures,sometimes it gets darker,depends on each individual dappled dog.

I agree mostly with Chris......dappling is random and where ever it hits it hits.....however.....this is true with reverse dapples.....patchwork dappling however is a dapple gene that is carried...unlike the reverse. Patchworks are not the same or under the same gene as a normal dapple. Just like some dapples will have blue eyes and some won't. The dapple gene is a hit and miss with the eyes!

I agree too,patchwork dapple is a little different...Should be clearly distinct different patchwork of colors..But I have seen regular Dapple dogs have patchwork dapple,and vice versa.

If a normal dapple has a patchwork pup then it carries the patchwork series of genes! Yes patchworks will have normal dapples also! For instance, my Dottie...she carries the patchwork gene! She also has thrown reverse dapples...LOL!!! But this time around she just had normal dapples!
