I was speaking with a friend here who had a girl go into season about a week before Millie did. Both of us noticed that the standing portion of the girls heats lasted longer than normal, and both girls were more flirty than normal for them. Millie started flagging WAY early for her (day 7) and didn't stop flagging until day 22. That is unusual for her-she normally starts flagging on day 10, and quits around day 17.

Has anyone else noticed a longer standing heat in their girls just recently? We were wondering if it had to do with the long, hard winter we had-maybe our girls are fertile myrtles in relief of the break in weather. Laughing

OMGOsh,Did I ever notice this!
I posted on the spot but never got a responce...
Coco and puddles were standing for 2 weeks(Maybe a few days more)
I had ties a couple weeks apart!(Turns out the way later ties are the ones that took)It was the weirdest thing,I didn't want to miss them so I just left them with their guys and kept getting ties....
I wonder if it had something to do with the extra cold winter or something...but not sure, neither of these girls has even flagged and accepted that long..(Coco has had split heat, but not a full blown flag fest..lol) scared

I'm so glad it wasn't just me. I was thinking that if Millie was going to be like this every heat after having puppies, I don't know if I want to keep her intact. She was a massive PITA this time-it was tempting to leave her crated most of the time. And I have only neutered boys-I can't imagine what you guys with your intact males were experiencing. Shocked

I don't comment anymore on the spot.......was asked not to.......but I will comment here....LOL!! I just don't want to accidentally hurt anyones feelings......I only mean to help educate or give my 2 cents worth....LOL!!
But I am also going thru some crappy stuff right now and am a little edgy so I do apologize upfront if I offend anyone....it is not intentional!! No tongue

It's ok,I embrace all opinions,even though at times,I really don't care to hear them..lol..But really,I get kinda uneasy sometimes too,so it's understandable.

I get told I kinda come off strong sometimes, but that's just how I am too..

Proudlake,Yes my boys went nutso..Both the male doxies had a woman..lol..But our shepherd always suffers..hehe

My crumble is in heat right now too,She's antsy and cries to get to her mate..We've already had 3 ties, maybe one more today, but she's contained at all times ,,,even after they tie she's right back to flagging and annoying her stud..lol..I hope she's done fast!....
We bred our dixie too,she had a normal cycle this time, just the standing 5 days is about normal for her...

I have 3 intact males and they aren't so bad during the day.....but at night....OMG.....they howl, whine and continue to bark at night and driving us all bonkers.......the girls are having hump fests LMAO and driving me nuts. They are finally calming down....just waiting for the boys now to knock it off......but I think I have 2 more coming in......don't know if I will be breeding then or not.....I can't handle too many litters at once......I need to hire someone to come live here and help if I have more than 2 litters or 3 spread out!! scratch whistle
