Taffy and Reuben
Taffy has just come into heat, and will be bred with Reuben in a week or so. This may or may not be her last litter. I was very pleased with the puppies they produced in their last litter. We are expecting all long-hairs in isabellas and chocolates. Reuben does not carry piebald, so no pies but pups will definately carry it! This litter will be AKC and CKC registered. We have also decided to offer shipping to forum members only If you would like to be added to the waiting list let me know. Below are pictures of parents, and the puppies they produced in their last litter:

I hope so! I'd love to see how the pigmentation of a chocolate they produce together turns out. Taffy is a real dark chocolate color, but I don't know if since Reuben is a dilute if it would lighten it up. Although then again the chocolates that Reuben and Hollie produce are pretty dark. Ahh I'm just excited
Re: Taffy and Reuben
YES! I LOVE chocolates with rich pigment! Just keep them out of the sun and use a sunscreen spray conditioner on their coats, they should stay dark...Im bad on that with Tanner,he's sooooo sun bleached, likes taking naps in the sun! Last summer I shaved him down, tried to remember to sunscreen him, nope again I didn't! He's just as light this summer with his full coat grown back!..
Re: Taffy and Reuben
I definately want a Taffy/Reuben female! Don't care what color! I can then breed her to Rocky that I still have breeding rights to. Issy & choc pies!!!
Re: Taffy and Reuben
Well Taffy doesn't really like the sun and will lay under our big berry bush if shes out...Reuben's more the one that likes to lay in the sun, and I do notice his coat seems darker in the winter but then again his coat gets thicker in the winter too so it could be due to that. The dogs arn't really out in the sun for long periods of time since we don't have a fenced in area and there are a lot of bears that wander around so the only time they are really out is if we're outside doing something and can supervise them all.
Karen, I'm really hoping I have some girls this time. LOL I have to remember not to supplement her with a lot of protein and calcium this time so maybe they won't turn out so gigantic ! We think thats what have been the problem the last time with her taking so long with delivery. The last and only female that was stillborn was born 10 hours after the rest, but we really couldn't tell if she had another pup or if it was her uterus because she wasn't in distress at all and seemed her calm happy ol' self. J.J I believe was 9 oz when he was born and she pushed him out like a pro, and the female was around 8 oz I think.

Don't you guys know the "tricks" to making girls? Breed them in hotter weather ,exercise the stud before breeding..
I have yet to try these and write down if it works or not, just another fun wives tale..Hmmmm,maybe I should give it a shot..

Re: Taffy and Reuben
Well we are sad to announce that after a strenous delivery, Taffy gave birth to a 9.9 oz chocolate girl. She got her head out and she was still alive, but Taffy stopped pushing for awhile by the time she started again and we were able to pull the puppy out she had suffocated. We tried to revive her for 45 minutes, but it didn't help. At this point we arn't sure whether or not we will be breeding her again
Re: Taffy and Reuben
Im sorry, this is so sad..It's happened to me twice with a singleton pup and both times it was heartbreaking...Even feels worse that there was just one,I know how you feel right now,I hope you perk up a bit,at least that momma is ok and didn't suffer any damage from that big ol baby.
