Lady passed on
well to sum up, she was over her 14 years old in dog years.
This morning i went to check up on her as usual, she usually lays down at a blanket, but she wasnt even moving anymore when call her. a couple of days ago she had been bitten by our other female, her leg got infected and possibly broken,so we took her to the vet, she was also having a high fever, so while the vet was able to control that, she couldn't take the pain anymore i guess.
Her mate passed away two years ago, so she was the one remaining of the previous generation.
She was not very active, but she was just too charming, always wanting to be pet and on her glory days her mate and she would hunt down lots of rats and just were very good watch dogs, even with their small size.
and sure as his mate departure, i'm not handling it very well. She was part of my life since i was in elementary school and just the guilt in my gut that if i had act sooner, do something she might be still here, so i feel like crap.. My family and my other dachshund have been trying to cheer me up though.
I will see her on the other side..

So sorry for your loss but she is pain free now and frolicking with her mate once again!! RIP little Lady!! I'm sure she will be missed....you can tell she was very much loved while she was here!

So sorry for your loss. She looks like she was well loved. You cannot tell that she would still be here if you had acted sooner. I feel like every dog and person has a book...when their books last page is turned and their time has come then its over. Your Lady's book just closed was all.

Re: Lady passed on
Thanks guys, i buried her yesterday near where her mate is buried as well while trying to get a grip. Im better today, also i'm not very heavenish person if you could say, but i learned its a more comforting way to deal with the loss of someone as life can be very harsh. I will keep her in my thoughts and enjoy the quality time i have with my remaining dogs.

So sorry to hear about your little girl. She looks and sounds like a very sweet little dog. It is very hard to lose one and hopefully she is reunited with her special doggie friend.

Re: Lady passed on
I am so sorry you are having to go through the pain of losing Lady. I also lost a 14 (almost) year old about 5 years ago, so I truly feel for you. Even though we know this will eventually happen when we acquire a dog, it is something we never want to consider. It is always so heart-breaking. I agree with Robin (Tradewinds), it was simply her time regardless of the circumstances. Please do not feel quilty, she would not want that for you. Let the love of your remaining dogs soothe your grief while keeping Lady's memory close to your heart. This is what I have done and it did make it easier even though I will always miss my Suzy.
Blessings to you and yours,
Deb
